love notes

Write yourself love notes and put them all around your home. They will support you in moments when life feels the hardest. They will remind you that you are worthy of love. They will be there when you fall down and help you stand up again.

I write down anything I need to remember: quotes that speak to me, other people’s words, or anything that inspires me with a patient gentleness. These are the narratives I reach for when I need a little extra love.

Below you will find some examples to help you get started.

gentle reminders

  • trust your intuition, your body, and your power
  • investigate if your narratives are rooted in love or fear
  • inhabit your body by taking a deep breath
  • practice noticing how things, people, activities, places, and words make you feel
  • appreciate all the ways your body supports you every day: every step, every breath, every heartbeat
  • growth is falling down and standing up again
  • remember that you are not beholden to your habits of yesterday, they do not define you

affirmations

Affirmations are powerful statements to help you reframe your thought patterns and affirm your experiences. They are a form of self-talk, enabling you to shift your mindset, alter your narratives, and allow your feelings. Affirmations remind us that our experiences are valid and worthy of a voice.

  • I am having a difficult day
  • I am worthy of love
  • I set that boundary to take care of me
  • I am worthy of the same kindness I give
  • I am imperfect and that makes me human
  • I am doing my best
  • I prioritize rest and play
  • I allow myself to take up space
  • I am resilient
  • I deeply and completely love, accept, and forgive myself

Afformations®

Developed by Noah St. John, Afformations® are empowering questions that always start with “Why”. As opposed to an affirmation, an Afformation® poses a question to help you notice your motives and the positive things you do believe about yourself to shift your subconscious. Afformations® can work in tandem with affirmations to empower you in creating the life you want.

  • Why am I attracting so many great people into my life?
  • Why am I safe in loving and allowing myself to be loved?
  • Why does my body feel so good, healthy, and strong?
  • Why am I so nourished: mind, body, and soul?
  • Why do I bring out the best in people?
  • Why do I have so much abundance in my life?
  • Why is it so easy for me to be authentically me?
