I forgot how much I enjoy painting.
I got older and I stopped making art.
I can’t remember all the little things I used to love and that makes me sad.
When we are children we play all the time. Our imaginations run wild and we create new worlds all around us: the floor turns to lava, we are superheroes flying around in our capes, and every single stuffed animal we own has a name and a personality.
Then we grow up. We start reaching adulthood. We become so consumed with all the anxiety and fear of being an adult that we forget what it was like to fill our time with things that were fun, that we enjoyed, that made us smile and laugh.
Take a second and try to remember all the things you used to love. Think about how you could incorporate some of those things back into your life.
Find some time to prioritize you; to have fun.
Do something you used to love.
Reinvent your life so that it is filled with the activities of your childhood. Reincorporate those activities so much so that when emotions are high and when life gets hard, they’re there for you; a habit.
A habit to pull you out. A habit to help you process your emotions. A habit to take care of your soul, your playful, and your inspiration. A habit to support you when you need it the most.
Fall back into the healthy habits of expressing yourself. Fall back into whatever that looks like for you, whatever supports you.
Paint again because life is hard.
Let’s all rediscover our outlets.
